It looks like 1.5 floors per week.

What do you mean by one of the height of the buildings being cut by half?

From today.

Hopefully these condos will liven up that strech of sheppard. I hope even more that the white cladding stays white.

The city is looking to revitalize the whole Consumers Road Business Park area (including the Tridel land) and Vic Park and Sheppard through a project called ConsumersNext. The consultation/planning stages run until August 2016, followed by the implementation through policy developments and such.

Here is a 74-slide presentation with lots of visuals (not text-heavy) used at a community meeting. It's an interesting read for anyone following developments in the area:

Here is a 9-slide presentation on how the community responded to the above presentation:

That's very interesting, they really really should be looking at growing this as an office node, it is just not dense enough and no new growth has happened in decades, and it has a very high availability rate I think the high teens. Some good new though recently, the huge block left by direct energy, American Express moved their HQ from Markham into part of that space. Hopefully if they improve the public realm ... maybe a downtown Markham type project ?? I think that would help a ton.

Some of me wishes the Shopes at Don Mills == Downtown Markham, with way more office space planned, I think this is an even better location for such a development though !

Looking at the consumersnext website and their material, there is a good chance they will reco mid rise residential and/or townhouses in the area.
