I thought the same thing, but I jogged past it today and it doesn't look like cladding, but a type of under-pad before the final application. Although I have no idea why they switched it out from the previous yellow under-pad... Unless it's another layer they needed to add? I'll try to get a closer picture next time I'm there.

The "grey" is not the final product (fingers crossed for white to show-up...).

The yellow was a sheathing/ backer board that gives some level of insulating value in addition to the insulation put between the metal studs behind. What you're seeing now is presumably a final layer of sheathing board to create a flat surface for the cladding panels to mount against.

it looks quiet today, but I did see a crane being operated yesterday. I can tell you that work on the Gardiner hasn’t stopped though. Even overnight.

Why would they position the trees almost in the middle of the sidewalk? The primary purpose of the sidewalk as a place to walk has been negated. Surely you put it to one side; preferably on the edge by the road. And how did absolutely no one catch this obvious laspe of judgement anywhere along the way?

I think because the sidewalk will be considerably wider. They will set-back the buildings to the east. This is just " Sidewalk Part 1"

Photos from yesterday. Public realm is looking excellent, a significant increase in waterfront boulevard. Retail is tall, structural layout seems generous, and the glass looks good. Deep South setback for patios. Building feels a bit clunky but let’s wait for details including balcony railings before passing final judgment.
