I really like this vision for the Distillery and this area. Open air, cobblestone walkways and limited vehicle access. The five story office will block most of the ambient noise from the Gardiner and railway. It will be a unique space in the core. As this is part of the OMB review process, is the building design/finish is subject to change? While I like the large windows, the office building looks sterile.
 
It is a nice design, but I hope that the walking surfaces will be smooth enough for wheelchairs and walkers of different abilities. I've seen some public spaces that include smooth strips that I think are for visually impaired and also maybe for people on wheels. I don't think we'd want traditional cobble stones, but perhaps something much smoother that still has that look.

Color -- is it possible to have too much brown/red brick? Could we redistribute some of that to the new neighbourhood to the east?

Also really happy to see the under-rail corridor in the plan. That will really connect the neighbourhood to the harbor side density underway. Are those retails units along the under-rail corridor?
 
I am under the impression that the site went up for sale after it got the rezoning. I did not hear about a sale happening, however…

Interesting spot for a college. Had no clue what this "ribbon building" is. Was thinking it was an old factory that made ribbons, or that the architect had a Gehry-inspired wavy architectural feature along the outside. But I guess it's just because the building is long and narrow and hence ribbon-like.
 
The French language college will be the core tenant in a ‘ribbon building’ in the Distillery District, giving it access to 100 square feet spread over four floors, which will be double the amount of space it currently has at its Yonge Street location.

25 square feet per floor! They'll definitely have to be efficient with their use of space.

(I'm guessing they're actually getting 100k square feet of space?)
