Every time I walk by CB (I generally enter the Manulife Centre through the east entrance), I see the one exposed "crystal" that's cracked and think, "wow, how stupid an idea was that."

Bazis's spandrel-ized, Astana-inspired, Crayola-green buildings in North York are pretty crappy too. But, yeah, they've upped their game thankfully.

As exciting as seeing the cladding going up has been - next thing I'm interested in seeing how the balconies look and play off the cladding

Tell that to Menkes. He is the one that should be taking note. Density aside, Sugar Wharf''s treatment is looking pretty ambiguous if not underwhelming at the moment. Does he excel like Harbourfront Plaza or does he fail like 33 Eglinton? We await more detailed renders.

I wish we weren't looking at the waist-height mullions, and that the glass was full floor, but I suppose that's the trade-off: those aluminum finials are expensive, so to offset that, a less expensive arrangement for the windows has been specced. (Still, the finials more than make up for having to put up with the otherwise needless crossbar.)
