Our first wind storm of the season tomorrow.... 40 gusting to 60. So a tame one to start the autumn storm season, but a windy day none-the-less.

Strong winds expected overnight into Monday..
A disturbance approaching from Northwestern Ontario is
Expected to intensify into an early autumn storm as it moves across
the upper Great Lakes into Southern Ontario Monday. A sharp cold
front associated with the developing storm is expected to race into
Southwestern Ontario overnight then east across the remainder of the
district on Monday.
Thunderstorms, possibly with very strong and gusty winds, may
accompany the front as it races across. There is a slight risk that
thunderstorms may briefly reach severe limits with damaging winds
possible as the front blasts through.
Latest indications also suggest that very strong west to southwest
winds will develop in the wake of the front Monday, especially in
exposed areas near the shores of the lower Great Lakes.
Environment Canada is closely monitoring this situation.
Severe thunderstorm watches and/or wind warnings may be issued as
required.

Just ten minutes ago a huge gust of wind snapped a massive tree branch down the street from me around the Pape/Danforth area. The wind came out of absolutely no where.

Nuit Blanche Forecast
9C is forecast for tonight with winds diminishing into the evening to around 15km. That's a pretty good temperature for taking in Nuit Blanche but take your umbrellas, there's a possibility of isolated showers tonight.

..Another confirmed tornado from the August 20th outbreak..
Additional investigations into the tornado outbreak of August 20th
has led to the confirmation of an 18th tornado from that event.
The tornado occurred around 8 PM on the 20th of August to the
northeast of orono which is about 25 km east of Oshawa. The damage
path was about 3.5 kilometres long and about 100 metres at its
widest. Some trees were blown down and there was minor damage done to
a home and barn. Based on this damage, this tornado was rated as a
Fujita scale zero tornado with peak winds around 115 kilometres per
hour. This is the weakest rating on the Fujita wind damage scale
which goes from zero to 5.
The August 20th outbreak has now yielded 18 tornadoes. This is a
record for the most tornadoes to occur in Ontario and in Canada on
one day. The previous record was 17 tornadoes which occurred in
Ontario on August 2nd 2006.
The total number of tornadoes for this season now stands at 28. In
an average year Ontario has 11 tornadoes. The greatest number of
tornado events in one year in Ontario is 29 which occurred in 2006.
The summer severe weather season normally begins in late April and
continues until early October.
Environment Canada continues to investigate reports concerning the
events of August 20th. Future storm summaries will be issued as
required over the course of the coming weeks.

Environment Canada called for at or above normal autumn temperatures as I recall. Why do they even bother?

We're not even a month into fall yet. You can have 2 months of below normal, and 1 month of above normal and still end up near normal temps. We will have to see how it plays out and come back at the end of December to see what we ended up with.
Our normal overnight low around this time is 5. Daytime high around 13. The past week has been cool, but before that it was normal.

It's not an official snowfall but I saw snow for the first time on Thursday. It lasted less than ten minutes, followed by a few minutes of snow pellets and then about half an hour of rain.
