While I don't mind the design of the building as a whole or the interesting orientation of the balconies, I think what disappoints is the cheap looking glass/spandrel/finishes. It definitely looks like they cheaped out on the podium, using too many bland grey panels instead of real glass. I think the balconies weren't done all that well either. It just looks like a piece of glass was attached to the cement floor and doesn't look very polished. "Meh" sums it up pretty well, as someone else said.
Compared to The Yorkville project a few blocks west, the lower quality of the Milan becomes pretty noticeable.

It's subpar for the area, with contemporary towers like 18 Yorkville, the Florian and the Yorkville in the immediate vicinity.

I have to agree, it looks way too cheap for the area. Too bad because it is very prominent.

They get away from it because they can.
After turnover, the board should hire the best engineer they can find to do the performance audit. For every obvious visible deficiency there are likely more hidden from view.
