You don't need a mouse to induce fermentation. There is always and everywhere natural yeast in the air (ok, maybe not in a clean room).

Yeah, true word.....especially in prisons where the mouse/prune ferment is from.

I don't know.....maybe some of the bacteria present in the carcass add something.
