talk about crazy new glass! so cool to see them all in one shot and to compare how different they are. the CN tower is being overwhelmed by Southcore.
order of sexiness (glass wise) so far.
18 york
Telus
MLS -blah! amateur.

^funny how a list of the best overall design of the three would be the exact opposite of that. Hmm... or maybe Telus would be best. Anyway 18 york is a very very boring building. Bleh. I expected something closer to the Winnipeg hydro building also by KPMB.

Well, we get to look forward to an exact clone next door, woo-hoo.

Actually I was walking south on York by the RYH the other day and was thinking how good the glass looked. Perhaps it's not a particularly interesting building with regard to massing but I think the glass looks great, better than Telus imo, and far superior to the green glass and precast patchwork of the condos in the area.

From York Street south of Bremner, looking up into the corner feature on the roof of this tower, the dark glass has a dark, brooding feeling. I thought the roof corner feature was just going to be like that of the Festival Tower or similar projects, but because of the transparency right to the top, it gives a much more satisfying effect. Small detail, but good to see something of interest on an otherwise plain-jane tower.

The PATH bridge is finally going up! :) Have a look here.

Great photos.

Thanks

I prefer the below ground (tunnel connection) format when it comes to the path.

Great photos.

I prefer the below ground (tunnel connection) format when it comes to the path.

After living in Calgary for 5 years, I prefer the +15, as you can see the light of the day, what the weather is like outside, what going on the street and not being an underground rat.

You have less stairs to deal with, compare to what we have.
