Hi Mala,

You should call the PDI Staff which are a part of Toddglenn at 416-503-2407. They should tell you when they are scheduled to fix your drywell. Hope this helps!

I have contacted them, actually when i picked up my keys I went to check and then filled out the form for the major issues in my condo. I waited a week and on the friday they came in and started fixing the drywall and electrical. I figured they would continue the next week and then i would go every day to follow up, but nothing was done. I called on the second week Tuesday and they said they would call me back? Nothing, no one called or followed up on my issues. I had to go in and actually take the PDI person up to show them my unit :(. Going on my 3rd week and PDI should have fixed everyones including my major issues before move in. So it's like we pay for the builder falling behind, not fair in anyway. Paying a phantom mortgage in a place that to my standards are not livable...
All my stuff had be delivered and stored in another location due to my unit being incomplete.
I hope no one else has to experience this.

I have also contact an acquaintance who is the chief of planning (urban) for the city. So waiting on what they have to say

thanks for your help

I think we should all complain about the elevators. It's absolutely RIDICULOUS that in a high end brand new condo the elevators do not work properly. I always have to hold down the buttons for sometimes up to 20 seconds before it lights up. I know someone who got stuck for over 30 minutes and today my mother and brother got stuck for a few minutes as they left my place after a visit. This is just absurd. I would expect this in a 30 year old condo with older elevators but not in a brand new luxury condo. I think we all need to complain or nothing will ever get done!!!!!!!!!!

It happened again this morning, someone was stuck .......
You are so right this is out of hand.

I just got an email saying almost everything was complete on my unit and only to find out
That it wasn't close........,I keep getting the same story

Someone mentioned I should take this to the media, i'm paying a, phantom mortgaged for a place
I can't live in yet. CTV guy named Pat or something. Sorry I don't watch t.v. So not sure if I got his name right.

Hi Mala,
I'm not quite sure why you can't move in to your unit yet. Do you have running water and electricity in your suite? All of your appliances? You've mentioned in your earlier posts that they only need to sand and paint one wall. I'm not sure how that prohibits you from moving into your new place??? Do you have any pics of the problem area?

You should continue to complain and try to get some money back from the builder from you being so inconvenienced. We are all already getting super ripped off by having to pay maintenance fees with NOTHING for the builder to maintain. No pool. no gym, no basketball court, NOTHING and it will be like this for another 5-6 months for sure. This is ridiculous. It's about time this builder does something for all of us. We should start a petition form and complain. One person will never be heard, but if we can get 50-100 people on board, maybe the builder will do something for us. In maintenance fees alone, we will all throw away around $3,000 until there is actually something ready to be maintained. Is everyone okay with this because I'm not!!!!!!!! On the topic of the elevators, once again, we should all complain because with just 1 complaint, nothing will be done. Send emails to mihaln@dukamanagement.com (Mike) and hopefully something gets resolved with these pathetic elevators.

^^ Flyers, I agree about the elevators...something needs to be done. For the maintenance fees, we're all in the same boat. When you buy a pre-construction condo delays are expected with the ammenities. I've been through it before. We can just hope that they are ready sooner than later. As far as getting out of paying for them...that will never happen. The builder has clauses in the purchase agreement regarding this to protect themselves always. You can get half the city to sign a petition and it's not going to help. Is this your first pre-con purchase?

I know builders always protect themselves in every which way, but there's something to be said for good business too. I would never expect them to fully refund us, but perhaps a partial credit or some other token to say "sorry" in good faith. I know the odds are against us (probably 99.9% chance the builder will do nothing), but there's always that 0.01% chance and we'll never know unless we try. As a business owner, why would you want to piss off so many people, especially after 2 delays already? I have purchased pre-con before and all construction in the building was 100% complete and all amenities were ready for me when I moved in. I guess this is not the norm, lol. So.......I guess let's focus on getting these elevators working properly. I saw a girl punching the button the other day to get it to light up. How pathetic is that? You have to punch the button to your floor to get the elevator to work. Way to go Amexon!!!! Well done.

I agree about the elevators 100%! E-mail to Duka has been sent. Let's see if they can get them fixed....it is really frustrating to say the least!

Its very common for this to happen in majority of the condo projects, those living on the higher floor endures it less but those who occupancy is early would have to put up with LOTS of continuous construction for months until the units are acceptable...

Well, I have some good news. Duka is taking this matter seriously and starting Mar 26, the elevator company is flying in their European specialist to examine the elevators at every floor to correct the issues they are having. Now if we can just get the pool and gym ready ASAP, everyone will be happy.

Great news Flyers! It's about time. Has anyone gone to see the progress of the ammenities, pool, gym, etc.? Are they working on those areas every day? Would be nice to be able to use the facilities some time soon :).

i have running water as for lighting it did not work in the main room unitl Monday night of this week and a shower head they just put in on Monday also. They have tried a second time to repair my drywall and it still is showing lines every 2 feet in my main room. I purchased the Tides , so the lines go from my kitchen all the way to my sliding door. I'm not sure, but seems like they didn't tape or put enough mud on the wall. I have all new furniture, as i am a first time home buyer and am very disapointed with my purchase. I don't feel comfortable moving in with sanding and painting of my drywall and it seems that they are going to have to do it all over again. My furnishings will get covered in dust as it is the main wall and with all the sanding they just recently tried to repair and the dust went through my whole unit. :(
I do have pictures, I don't think anyone should go through this expereince. I carry a camera, level, flashlight and measuring tape with me everytime i go back. My center island isn't even centered... goes from 37" on one side to 35" on the other (between the oven and sink)
