Sidewalk plowing

We have no sidewalks in Scarborough at the moment. The plows pushed massive piles onto the sidewalks and homeowners are faced with an impossible task. Even teh sidewalk plows can't push through.

It looks like the blades on the sidewalk plows aren't as high as the snow banks from the road plowing - or even a bank created by humans shovelling. So can only get through where home-owners have already shovelled.

But they make more of a mess than before they started.

Oops. I guess they need to plow sidewalks first next time!

Mississauga council has been great with lip service regarding sidewalk and bus stop clearing that they still put people lives at risk after 20 years after I first raise the issues. Lets see what feed back I will get after council gets these photos and a write up.

People have to stand in live lanes of traffic or at driveways to catch a bus or just walk since sidewalks are impassable.

The northbound stop on Dixie Rd is none accessibly nor will be unless relocate between the gas station driveway. All done in the name of the car/traffic.

Wonder how many pedestrians are walking on the streets because of uncleared sidewalks AND breaking the laws of Ontario...

According to section 179, subsection 1 of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act: “Where sidewalks are not provided on a highway, a pedestrian walking along the highway shall walk on the left side thereof facing oncoming traffic and, when walking along the roadway, shall walk as close to the left edge thereof as possible.”
