I know of someone that bought a house near Sheppard, hoping that there would be a subway nearby in the not too distant future. Little did they know the project was on the Bruno Caboclo timeline. Hopefully this will change.
Or maybe it’s a first incredibly small step to acknowledging that we took indigenous peoples lands. It’s the bare minimum, but it’s something.yes. its like singing the national anthem at the sports event. a cringeworthy political theatre for sure.
Pretty sure we purchased the land most of Toronto occupies, not took.Or maybe it’s a first incredibly small step to acknowledging that we took indigenous peoples lands. It’s the bare minimum, but it’s something.
Although did we pay fair market value for it, even at the time?Pretty sure we purchased the land most of Toronto occupies, not took.
Yes. Even if we didn't, that's not theft.Although did we pay fair market value for it, even at the time?
You’re clearly showing you know nothing about the Toronto purchase.Yes. Even if we didn't, that's not theft.
So? They took the land from other peoples through conquest and genocide. The Mississauga peoples who we took the land from, took the land from the Iroquois peoples who took the land from the Huron-Wendat peoples.Or maybe it’s a first incredibly small step to acknowledging that we took indigenous peoples lands. The land Toronto is on has been paid for. Period. You’re clearly showing you know nothing about the Toronto purchase.
Why would you need a wye? The trains are double ended, just change cabs.
iirc SW wasnt going to be a terminus station and wouldve continued and made the turn east towards yonge had it been continued. On the northbound approach to Sheppard West, there appears to be a knockout section and a tunnel bellmouth. Was this for a future Sheppard subway connection?

You can see the track layout here. The area to the right of the northbound track is most likely for ventilation. On the northbound approach to Sheppard West, there appears to be a knockout section and a tunnel bellmouth. Was this for a future Sheppard subway connection?
