But they put up caution tape and orange pylons! It can't possibly be dangerous if there's caution tape on it.That one is not just shabby, but dangerous as heck.

Also seen on Eglinton West Bikeway, west of Scarlett Road. What a shambles. But they put up caution tape and orange pylons! It can't possibly be dangerous if there's caution tape on it.
In Peel, the instruction is to put pet waste and litter in the garbage. Of course, people do whatever they feel like.At least in Toronto your understanding is incorrect. The City's Waste Wizard says:

The snow plows were not kind to this stretch of the Martin Goodman trail along Lake Shore (between Roncy and Jameson). Not sure why these stainless mesh screens were tacked onto the metal barriers to begin with, but they were obviously installed without taking the snow clearing into consideration.

If they had insisted on a redesign I bet it would not have happened for several years!Update on this:

Replacement mesh screens were installed by riveting them in the exact same way that failed with the old screens. Problem solved until the next major snowfall.
What if they just used a couple more rivets per panel? Maybe that would have only caused a delay of several months? If they had insisted on a redesign I bet it would not have happened for several years!

Hooooo boy, don't get me started on this one.Speaking of Martin Goodman Trail and shabbiness - does anyone have any lore about this abandoned and fenced off looking castle structure that's close to the Casimir Gzowski Park? On Google Earth it's been fenced off and vacant since 2009. It shows the structure was under construction in the 2007 photo. Has it ever...been anything? Why can't it become something, like a restroom, restaurant or rest area? How can it be allowed to just remain in a state of under construction for close to 20 years...there should be some sort of blight tax.

There is a whole thread on Unwin. https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threads/unwin-ave-undriveable.42914/page-3#post-2377725Two words (and sorry no pics): Unwin Avenue.
How this street remains open to the public in its state of utter disrepair is wild. It's obviously been destroyed by the heavy equipment and trucks that use it constantly. It is heavily cratered, covered mostly in a layer of mud or otherwise a layer of fine gravel that kicks up like a Martian dust storm with any vehicle.
The only real reason I can see to keep it open is access to the sports fields near Cherry, but beyond that it should be shut down until it can be repaved. Cars will be damaged if they haven't already been, and people will get hurt.
edit: I should add it probably needs to stay open for the construction vehicles, but it should be signed and gated or otherwise restricted for other drivers. I recently saw a picture on another thread that appeared to show it closed, but I rode it on the weekend and I didn't see any sign like that, might have been cloaked in the dust clouds though!
Yes, thank you. There is a whole thread on Unwin. https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threads/unwin-ave-undriveable.42914/page-3#post-2377725
