Lee's Palace's iconic monster mural has been taken down. According to Torontoist, Big Fat Burrito will be taking over the front of the building and installing a new metal facade (Projects & Construction thread, anyone?). The venue's new entrance will be around the side of the building, by the dumpster. Nice. The story and the pictures: http://torontoist.com/2009/11/the_l...e_lees_palace_mural.php?gallery0Pic=1#gallery
Runt, the original artist commissioned to do the mural 20 years ago, will be painting a new one. It will be installed in the spring. This is slightly sad. But weird above anything else.
I hope Edgar Wright was able to immortalize Lee's as it should be. Here's a Scott Pilgrim videoblog of the filming that took place there: http://www.scottpilgrimthemovie.com...lash-at-demonhead-scott-pilgrim-vs-the-world/
