Scott Pilgrim film takes on Toronto!

SP currently has a 86% rating on the tomato meter: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/scott_pilgrims_vs_the_world/
Hopefully that percentage will be extrapolated over the coming weeks.

also

What a great poster:

For those with a morbid sense of nostalgia for long-gone Toronto landmarks, I think this movie will tickle you in the pants. This scene is taken right from Volume 1:

Edgar and The Wright Stuff return to Toronto this weekend, this time dumping The Bloor Cinema for Toronto Underground: http://www.edgarwrighthere.com/2010/08/04/the-wright-stuff-strikes-back-toronto-august-6th-8th-2010/
Notice that on the last day of the series, the film following "Ferris Bueller" is TBC...interpret that as you will.

Also, as expected, Tourism Toronto and many levels of government are exploiting SPVW: http://www.seetorontonow.com/scottpilgrim/index.asp
We are the best.

NYC nuthin' but a Pilgrim poster

Down in NYC over the stinkin' hot long weekend, and pretty much the whole town is one big poster for this movie. It was amazing how much visual real estate was taken up by posters for this and Eat/Pray/Love.

Man, I wish I'd seen that poster earlier...it's sold out on his website now. Too bad...I'd have loved to order one. Beautiful.

The amazing Scott Pilgrim game is out today as well, via DLC on PSN (and coming later to XBLA) for $9.99 USD. Check out one of the trailers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWSpzxa7T30

Fighting in streetcars, ontop of them, and many of the battles with a backdrop of the city and CN Tower. Nice! I love the early 90s look to it all, 16-bit generation lives on.

As for the movie, I'm semi-interested in it, being a fan of the comics.. but Cera makes me wince a bit whenever I watch him.

This type of film really isn't my thing but I'm a huge fan of Edgar Wright plus there's the whole Toronto plays Toronto thing, so I can't miss it.

I'd never heard of Scott Pilgrim before, and I don't really care. I'll be seeing this movie for the Toronto plays Toronto thing, same reason I saw Chloe.

All valid reasons why we should watch this film!

But for those who actually care, an extensive interview with Mr. Wright: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=68566
