Nicely done from 1968 when I was 7 years old I lived at 2 Biggin Court (I can actually see our balcony!) we then moved up the street to 1749 Victoria Park Avenue across from where Sloan Ave comes out ...after that it was on to 275 Cassandra Blvd Just south and across the street from The Parkway Plaza... Dr. Campbell was in the Surry Plaza. We moved to Ajax after that in 1975. So basically you covered much of my youth with your posts! No Zing Burger though ...too early and too late in those photos...lolVictoria Park looking west just north of Sloane - 1959 - 2014

Late 70's I lived at 1651 V.P. across from the Zingburger which later became the Chicken & Rib Shack. Torn down years ago Isotack and I think the whole strip mall is about to be demolished.Nicely done from 1968 when I was 7 years old I lived at 2 Biggin Court (I can actually see our balcony!) we then moved up the street to 1749 Victoria Park Avenue across from where Sloan Ave comes out ...after that it was on to 275 Cassandra Blvd Just south and across the street from The Parkway Plaza... I used to ski there in the late 60s.Does anyone have any old photographs they would like to share of the ski hill located in the Rouge Valley south of the Zoo? It was at the end of Sheppard, or old Lansing cutoff, now called Twin River.
It was called Caper valley and was in operation in the early to mid seventies. I heard a story that it’s name “Caper” came from the factory about a kilometer away on the north side of Sheppard Ave. called Repac. Caper is Repac spelled backwards.
Here is a recent picture (Sept 2014), the second pic is of a concrete foundation (at the top of the hill) I assume to hold one of the ski lift poles. The third picture is of the steel cable (still in the bush) which was used for the ski lift.
