Rob Ford's Toronto

I was offline all weekend and had a fine start this morning seeing this missive:

Doug Ford Campaign - Doug needs your financial support!
image1512639.png

Dear Friend,

Why do I want to be Mayor of Toronto? Simply put, I want to carry forward the agenda that Rob and I started together. I want to see the City of Toronto do more with less. So we can lower the tax burden on average hard working families, while funding our top priorities like transit, roads and important City services.
From day one Rob and I knew that Toronto had a spending problem, not a revenue problem. While others talked, we fought and did something about it.

Now, I humbly ask for your help to finish what Rob and I started together - putting the public’s interest before special interests.

If you want your taxes to stay low, and you agree that we need to be building new subways, we need your vote, and your financial support!
If you would like to DONATE to the Doug Ford Campaign, please ensure that you provide your mailing address (printed on your personal cheque), to ensure that you receive your rebate payment from the city of Toronto.
We have also provided (attached link) a sample of rebate calculations, and amounts detailing how much is rebated by the city of Toronto for various donation amounts.
Please send a cheque to our Campaign Headquarters at the address below, or you can click here to DONATE online.
If you have any questions, please call us at: 416.751.FORD (3673) and press "1" when prompted.
Please mail donations to:

Thank you again for your continued support.

Yours Truly,

Doug Ford
Councillor – Ward 2 (Etobicoke North)
Your Candidate for Mayor
My apologies if someone has previously posted this ( search did not come up with any results).
He will get my support in ensuring that he or Rob will not be elected.

Each cycle is 3 days of treatment and then 18 days off. They want at least 2 full cycles before they scan again, around 6 weeks is my guess.

I've been reading about Ford's type of cancer. It's like the zombie of cancers--you can try to kill it but it just keeps coming back.

Wow, a college student with no experience stands a chance of being a school board trustee...

Doug's favorite topic!

I doubt he's still in college. As the story goes, he had to upgrade his high school marks just to meet Humbers 60% entrance requirement. Past performance is usually an indicator of future performance.

Speaking of Nunziata, I heard back when Tory first ran for mayor some of his staffers got caught trying to disrupt a Nunziata campaign event. Anyone remember this? I think Donovan wrote about it but I can't find the article.

It was an alleged bribe.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Tory
Tory's campaign came under fire when it was accused by opponent Nunziata of attempting to bribe him into pulling out of the race by offering the Deputy Mayor's position. At first, Nunziata did not reveal who attempted to bribe him but several media sources speculated that it was Tory's campaign. Besides denying these allegations, Tory also made the pledge to drop out from the race if a police investigation found out that any member of his team was charged with wrongdoing. When Tory was cleared of wrongdoing, Nunziata was in turn accused of mischief for making an unsubstantiated smear claim and sunk further in polls.

Police have announced no charges will be laid against John Tory's election team following bribery allegations cast by Toronto mayoral candidate John Nunziata.

York regional police concluded there was no evidence to support an offence under the Criminal Code or the Ontario Municipal Elections Act.

Nunziata alleged he was offered $100,000, then $150,000, from the Tory campaign team to help pay off his campaign expenses if he were to drop out of the race. He also claimed he was offered the position of deputy mayor.

I SAW ONE IN THE WILD! I'm always south of Eglinton and east of Dufferin so I don't actually see any, but I SAW ONE! She was old and weathered and buying lottery tickets. At the Yonge-Eglinton Centre of all places - what a midtown elitist!

I was thinking to myself, "yeah voting Ford kinda is like playing the lottery"

Sorry for the pointless post :D

Commie hunter Graeme McEacheran (who 'threatened' the world that he would delete his latest Twitter account but did not, more's the pity), apparently now working for Doug, claimed on Twitter that, in addition to his <45 minutes in Etobicoke, Doug Jr canvassed in Scarborough on Saturday. Anyone seen a shred of evidence for that? (I can't find any.)
I understood it was another 1/2 hour in Ward 4......

Anyone still remember Woodbine Live? Under Rob's leadership we got a soybean field instead.

Nice article thanks! I like this part:

“Nobody understands better than the Fords that that land is underutilized,†he said. “The city was there at the table every step of the way.â€
-Masoudi with a pithy quip. Is he suggesting "the Fords" deep, deep, deep down know how badly they fucked the project? Aren't most Casinos run by "unsavory types"? Maybe They have marching orders from a higher Family Chief than MoFo?

Yeah I'm wearing the foil, but what a bizarre thing to say.

Aging and political opinions.

Mammo also.

My mother is a healthy and intelligent 96 year old who is as interested in ousting neo capitalism as she was in World War 11 when she fought against the Corporatist agenda that led to the rise of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. Shifting farther right as we age is not universal.
