This is basically what I was on about a few months ago when I got rained on "for wishing death upon them".
Yeah, it bugged me then and I spoke up then. The great thing about RoFo is that it only took a few days for him to, once again, undermine even his most conditional supporters.
More recently, we have had to stomach reading news about Mammoliti (EDIT: maybe it was Doug; dunno, works either way except for the "flagpole" one, for which you can substitute "ferris wheel" without blinking an eyelash) "accusing people of wishing for Ford to die". What kind of BS reporting is that? The press should scrum around the Councillor and ask him a few questions on the topic:
"Councillor, it has been reported that you do not want the Mayor to die. Is that true?"
"How can you justify this position in light of everything that has happened? Do you have blood on your hands, Councillor?"
"Are you hoping that before the Mayor dies he will kill someone while driving drunk? Or perhaps that someone else will be killed over a recording of the Mayor's drug use? Do you have anyone in particular in mind? Is this a personal concern, or a professional one?"
"Do you think the Mayor's children would be better off if the Mayor died in a gutter tomorrow, or spending the next decade hanging out in a limo with one of his criminal buddies, watching the Mayor intoxicate himself to near-death while beating their mother and causing general mayhem, all the while impervious to the criminal justice system?"
"Just one question, Councillor: why don't you care about our children? Does that mean you're a pedophile?"
"Have you and the Mayor ever had that conversation that Tom Hagen had with Frankie Pentangeli in Godfather II? Would you, please? Just so we're clear, the Mayor would be the "dago" in that conversation."
"Councillor, a related follow-up question: if we build the world's tallest flagpole in your ward and then promise to pimp out your progeny from a tent at its base, will you kill the Mayor by stabbing him through his eyeball with your eyeglasses?"
