I don't believe for a second that most people have ever committed that criminal act - drinking enough to blow 0.08?? I've never been close. Are you defending such criminal behaviour?

My point was clear I thought. That people, like you, who are prejudiced against gays, have been emboldened to express your prejudice against gays and make it clear that you don't think that they should have the same rights that you or I might have.

It may have been there but it wasn't discussed in a mean-spirited and hateful way. Maybe you guys haven't noticed the difference because it doesn't affect you but I do see it and I do not like it. Yes, I do think Ford has played a huge part in this and I bet it will get worse before it gets better.

I will agree these issues are coming up more and more, but I don't think Ford is a cause but rather a consequence. It seems as though there is something of a frustration in the middle class that is sweeping people like Ford and Harper into power, and will probably give Hudak a majority.

It's not gay marriage or even gay rights, it's $$$. Usually with economic uncertainty, comes conservatives. It's just a pattern that keeps repeating itself, as foolish as that is.

I can't recall any other politician has gotten into troubles because of alcohol during 2 different decades. I can't recall any other politician has been arrested in 3 consecutive decades. I'm sure it's happened, but none jump to mind.

I don't believe for a second that millions of people drive drunk. I've also never met anyone who has ever said that it's okay to drive drunk. That's the issue. Are you saying it's okay to drive drunk - I don't think that's what your saying ... if I ever encountered anyone who would say such a thing, I'm quite sure I'd be equally as vocal. And this is the issue ... the reason that the only thing that this seems to be about is anti-gay prejudice, is because this is the only issue that anyone is trying to justify is okay.

What has Ford done but tap into frustration of many voters about how things were being run in this city?

That was his entire message. His entire career at city hall has been about being pissed at what he saw as waste. He was on the Michael Coren show years ago and I watch the man talk only about his desire to see the city run financially better. He actually doesn't care what people do in their spare time. He was asked this and he said "to each their own".

Now since in power and proposing cuts everywhere including some gay issues, he's the devil because those that hate what he stands for, which is his conservative nature, paint a picture of the man being a bigot on a scale that's almost comedic. The demonizing of the man has been taken to insane heights.

It's very similar regarding the backlash against Obama and the crazy accusations that he wasn't a true american, was a socialist or was secretly a muslim plotting a islamic takeover of america.

I don't see any of you guys taking this same hate and talking about what leaders of countries like Iran, Syria, China, Burma, Saudi Arabia do to their own populations. Or what happened with all the ethnic cleansing that still takes place. Or the very rampant slavery happening in muslim countries. Or the human traffcing for men buying sex in places like north america.

Maybe not millions, but a lot of people do it. Ever been out in the country? I was quite shocked to see how many people drive home drunk. I would get told "well, the truck knows its way home." Terrible.

Go down to the club district, go to parties, watch people, listen to cops and you understand very quickly that it's still a big problem. I have many co-workers that party then drive. They get stoned. Then drive. They get stoned while driving.

And this colosasal threat he represents and people are about to commit violence against gays here in Toronto cause Ford skipped Pride. That he also skipped Canada Day celebrations is irrelevant to your eyes. That millions of canadians are bigots for their views on marriage yet.....

For billions of other people around the world, living in conditions that would make you cry for your mommy, you can't see past your own hate and see the true oppression and human suffering out there. Your entire being is focused only on Ford. I have co-workers that came from countries where atrocities are committed on a scale that defies anything in Canada.

But no one is going to convince you. Your hate for Ford leaves nothing else and no reason.

I was clubbing back in the 80's and 90's and so many people were drinking and driving. Hell, practically everyone was doing it at some point. I never did. What I'm saying is that you keep referencing to Ford and his drinking/driving violation as more evidence that he's unfit to be mayor.

Ignoring that a host of others including many politicians have and are doing this.

Who was quoted as saying it was open season on gays in Canada, Toronto? What media printed this story that Ford skipping Pride was going to lead to this horrific scenerio. What world are you living in? This is Canada. When was the the last time, hordes of people rounded up others, lynched and killed them?

Are we really having this discussion about how the bigots are going to head out and bash heads?
