that Star story has a very confusing line
"“There is no connection whatsoever between our victim and the shooters, or the suspects,†said Cavilla, adding that this was not a case of mistaken identity. “Nothing has come to light to the investigative team so far that would indicate there was a target in the close proximity to the victim.â€

No connection whatsoever but it's not a case of mistaken identity? so what is it, then? Might be an editing error.

this story has the police calling her an innocent bystander and that she was hit by a stray bullet. also has a little bit more about her (esp in the video):

He's doing all the press the flesh, for sure. But the pressers are not about issues or debates or context, it's just RoFo mouthing off soundbites and it gets on the late news. Check out CP24's RoFo coverage today. All faux outrage and zero substance in 1 min segments or less. Just what his target audience ordered.

But my point is he is getting his face and name out there for very little or no cost. A DIY campaign on the cheap.

GFL still making a mess...

Man suffers critical head injuries after garbage truck rollover

Not the CBC, 680news.com or CP24 -- only the Hamilton Spec is bothering to name the company in it's article about the crash -- and mention the company's safety record:

The garbage truck belongs to GFL Environmental, a contractor whose clients include the City of Hamilton, Toronto and Durham Region.

The Toronto Star recently reported that GFL trucks were involved in 274 collisions provincewide between June 2012 and July 2014. It said 65 convictions resulted from those collisions.

The province downgraded the company's safety rating from "satisfactory" to "conditional" in April, the Star reported.

The Spectator's attempts to contact GFL on Monday were unsuccessful.

Pink protest shows Rob Ford still a ‘lone wolf’ as council has final meeting before election

It was but one more vignette illustrating the fraught relationship between the “lone wolf” chief magistrate and many of his council colleagues — this one occurring in the last meeting of the council term, to the backdrop of a looming municipal election.

For another vignette, one could look across the council chambers Monday and seen it dotted with pink. At least eight councillors, most of them left wing, donned the colour to signal, as one predicted it, “the end of Rob Ford.”

What is also very coincidental is that message was on February 6th 2013, 1 year to the date before Ford was reported slurring at Alana's mother's house in the West end.

I also hope that someone near the bottom wins.... but I fear that wishful thinking is strongly in play here! I'm surprised I topped the list with only 28%.
