Rob Ford's Toronto

This is ridiculous. There won't be any more coming because it's just another smear job with respect to the tax and spend socialists at the Globe and Mail going after Rob Ford for shutting down the gravy train.

Rob Ford takes 800 calls a day. Nobody works harder for taxpayers than Rob Ford but not all hard-working taxpayers have the luxury of being able to dial. Rob Ford gives them a voice. Rob Ford gives a voice to the voiceless.

The downtown elitists and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services were ordered by the unelected premier Wynne to silence their critics but Rob Ford isn't going to stop doing the right thing no matter what. It's not in his blood.

Tom Foolery, TOM FOOLERY!!! I say!

LOL Any chance you're behind the Rob Frod twitter account? You've got a similar sense of humour to your posts.

Forgotten will show Ford Nation what it is to be a True Ford Nationalist. So effin' bang-on. Every. Single. Time.

Toronto's Stephen Colbert, thy name is Forgotten.

p.s. You wanna do some blow? I got it right here.

I was interested in the logistics of Ford's arrival at the Taste of the Danforth, so I did some maps snooping.

In this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Ii_70q7xGL4&t=43

At 00:43, he's in front of this house:

So at the beginning of the video he's standing here:

If this is where he's parked, there's no pub or bar until you get to the "Kilt and Keg" on Danforth.

If he was drunk and/or high at that location, he probably got there in that state.

No one has suggested yet that he drove there, parked, had a Rob Ford pity party in his Escalade and then tried to make his way to Taste of the Danforth. So he may not have driven there sh*tfaced.

^Very true. While it would still be illegal, it wouldn't be DUI-level illegal.

It's pitiful that "the argument about Rob Ford" is about the degree to which he breaks the law with impunity on any given day.

Jerry Agar had heard (he didn't know if it was true), that Ford had been at the Jays & Athletics game, just prior to arriving for the Taste of the Danforth event. If he was, I'm hoping that someone can confirm seeing him there.

That's the kind of unlikely possibility that makes drunk driving difficult to prove. it would still be illegal, though.

But he blew off all his staff, not showing for a scheduled meeting, drove to the Danforth and then decided to get stumbling, slurring, sloppy drunk?

I just wish someone would get in their face and drill down until all the inconsistencies become clear. Because it's getting time-consuming monitoring these stories thinking this will be the one that finally undermines them and finding it all gets stonewalled once again.

Think the Jays story was a incorrect sidetrip on the gossip/Twitter chain.

"At one point on the video, Ford humorously kibitzing with a cluster of youths, addressing some as “brotherâ€, it sounds like he says: “Do you want some bone? I’ll give you some bone. I have it, seriously.’

Bone is street slang for crack cocaine.

A few listeners jumped on that over the weekend. However, when the Star enhanced the audio, it became clearer what Ford is actually saying. Well, not entirely clear, but — after repeating “I’m not driving,†as if to reassure there’s no risk of another DUI on this evening — the mayor mutters something about “stink.†I can’t definitely make out if Ford is referring to himself or the photo-seeker standing close. He says: “Give me some cologne. You want some cologne? I’ll give you some cologne.â€

No, that’s not a mickey in his pocket — it’s Aramis for Men."

I just can't comprehend how this clown can be out on the town drunk as a fool and yet people will line up the excuses for him. Imagine if someone like Stephen Harper or Obama was to be drunk in public acting a fool like this. People would be calling for their heads. This guy is a fully grown man, he does not need excuses being made for him like a small child. Toronto is a focking joke.

The kid who took the video is in conversation with a couple regulars on Twitter. Says he didn't see Ford arrive, but thinks he wasn't there for long. Parked across the street from the kid's house, on Greenwood at the northern end of the TTC yard. This, he says, is about 2km from the Taste of the Danforth. In the video where Robbie Three-Times repeats, "I'm not driving, I'm not driving, I'm not driving," he is about 20 feet away from his vehicle. Ford had a crowd of ten people around him 30 feet from his car, and it had doubled by the time they reached the Danforth. At the Danforth the crowd stopped at Tim's for the coffee. Apparently there is also a beer store and an LCBO on that corner.

southeast corner of greenwood and danforth is the tim horton's in the former movie theatre. south west corner has the parking lot for the beer store. adjacent to the beer store, one door west, is a small LCBO. i know this from patronizing all three last year when i lived there briefly.
