Roads: Scarlett Road / CP Rail Bridge EA

Normal situation in Toronto. Defer, defer, and more deferring. And when they actually start, they are upset that the costs have gone up.

Yup, the consistent negative inertia in this city would drive anyone to drink.

... the construction graphic on the previous page shows only minor work was to start last year... with the major stuff to start this year.

An update...

"...
Unfortunately the project has been delayed. Construction is expected to start in 2022. We are putting together a communication that will be sent out to the community to update them on the project which will provide further details.

Maybe, maybe, they're getting around to it this year (or next)...

On April 29, 2019, the City hosted a public meeting to provide an update on the bridge project and invite residents to speak with the project team. Over 100 residents attended. View the bridge information materials below (PDF):
IT'S TWO YEARS NOW! And still waiting for them to start.

It's unfortunate to see little happening with this project and the more significant underpass reconstruction project on St. Clair between Keele and Old Weston Road.
The St Clair one has been rolled into the SmartTrack work for the adjacent station from my understanding - part of why SmartTrack's cost has inflated so much.

No idea why this one is taking so long, I recall 2020 as being the supposed construction start. Looking at ToInview - it's saying Q2 2022 start now.

"The City of Toronto is moving forward with reconstruction of the Scarlett Road Bridge and the intersection of Scarlett Road, St. Clair Avenue West and Dundas Street West. Final design work is close to completion and construction is expected to start in late 2023. Required utility and signal bridge relocation work around the bridge prior to the start of construction will begin in 2022 and will continue into 2023.

A community meeting is being planned for late spring 2022 to present the final design. Once details are finalized, they will be posted in the News and Updates tab below."
