Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

I certainly wouldn't object to a grade separated cycling/hiking/horse trail connecting the Caledon-Trailway to central York Region.

Hopefully, every horse is equipped with a certain tool located right behind the horse.

Otherwise, cycling on the same trail will be very problematic :)

Shared horse/cycling trails are common in LA suburbs; backyard shed-sized stables are surprisingly common in Upland and Rancho Cucamonga. I'm not in that area often but I've never seen an issue. The only surprise is the crosswalk buttons can be 6 feet off the ground.

GTA west seems to have quietely released detailed alignment plans on their website in May - see the "draft straw model design" plates through the link below.

The 407/401/GTA West interchange looks like fun.

A good example of where maintaining the n-s portion of the 407 here creates so much more complications.

A Brampton City staff presentation with further graphics and land use proposals for Heritage Heights. The Province wants a 400-series highway with the 413 and Brampton Council/staff want a boulevard.

just looking at the political reality - just don't see the PCs cutting it.

The Federal EA will likely push the decision beyond the scope of this term of government.

I sincerely hope the current iteration of same will not be re-elected.

how much money is Brampton going to pour into that plan before they have to completely rewrite it with the 413 actually accommodated?

They already had to do work for a secondary plan, so I don't think it would be a great cost delta overall. Certainly no where near the throw away cost of switching from LRT to subway in Scarborough.

Looking at those photos, it seems that there won't be a direct connection to the collectors from the 407?
This is the wrong thread for this, but I imagine it will be like the DVP to 401 Eastbound ramp where it has branches to both the collectors and express.
