The slow gentrification of this stretch of Gerrard East (between Gerrard Square and Jones) continues?

Good! Bring it on. Used to live at the top of Galt Avenue, in the late 90s. A dreadful stretch of Gerrard then and it's been great to see it (slowly!) come around.

I haven't seen a mention of this yet (so apologies if it's old news) but COBS Bread is coming to 156 Danforth.

Ah, we had a brief discussion in the East Danforth thread about this (since we'd already been talking Starbucks) and wondered as to why this would close. "[T]he location didn't do enough business to satisfy corporate demands." That answers that.

BlogTO needs to be more careful with its headlines. The phrase "most unique" makes no sense.

There are language battles (resistance to the evolution of language), and then there are language battles (where comprehension is at stake). "Most unique" doesn't even make sense, unless one assumes that "unique" = "unusual", and then we have no word in the English language to describe the concept that used to be covered by "unique".

Noticed this morning that Trapezzi at 505 Danforth (paper in the windows, sign gone) and Diners Thai at 395 Danforth (for lease sign in window, space empty) are gone. Not sure when they each disappeared.

On the plus side, it looks like the huge space formerly inhabited by Mr. Greek has been leased. (At least, about two-thirds of the space has "Leased" signs up in the windows. One remaining window on the easternmost end still has a "For Lease" sign up, but I don't know if that means the space is being broken up like The Friendly Greek space was, or if this was just an oversight.)

Trapezzi is renovating and will open Oct 31st as Logo Bar.

wasnt trapezzi basically a greek cafe/bar? can only assume it will be more of the same considering its the same owner.
