Good for Stiles. Suppose just like us normies who are against this conservative government's antics or legislation there isn't much the NDP can do but I'm content to see the leader do this even if it doesn't "do" anything.

11am to 1:30pm, begins at 67 Yonge St, the FRPO HQ, and then people will march to Queen's Park

It would of helped their cause if they stop them from censuring Sarah Jama back in the day. It's not like anything she said was off the mark...but you know the consequences of throwing your elected officials under the bus will catch up to you eventually. Especially when they're starting to use the same tactics on you for calling something out that's been demonstratively true. Just saying.
 

Bill 60 goes to a final vote on Monday and similar to Bill 33 it has been rushed with very little debate, and also similar to Bill 33 it gives the Housing Minister more power over cities just like Bill 33 gave the Education Minister more power over school boards. In addition to the obvious issues around tenants.

I was there and it was a great time. Lots of people with signs, and even more participating with chants. If anyone here has ever considered going to a rally but hasn't, I recommend finding your cause and going, I always have a good time and feel heartened to see others out for that issue, which helps my outlook a bit when it can feel dispiring, especially with this gov, to wite to representatives and sign petitions and it doesn't change anything. There were a handful of chants being used, and sometimes people would put some cheeky spin on it for a laugh. Good vibes all around.

Once at Queen's Park there were a number of speakers, which went on for about an hour and the crowd thinned as it went on. A couple NDP MPPs and Mike Schreiner were there, and I saw Marit Stiles give an interview to some media, but none spoke to the crowd seemed a bit weird. There was an effort to recruit people to pack the gallery at QP on Monday when Bill 60 is voted on. As someone concerned about the effects of Bill 60 but not involved in organizing, it was a bit shocking to realize how many groups are involved in trying to organize around this and other issues.

The York South-Weston Tenant Union was handing out flyers for an orientation event next Sat Nov 29 to provide tenants training and education about how to build a tenant class and "learn about what we can do to build tenant power with our neighbours and force real change in Toronto". It's being held at 2575 Eglinton Ave W from 2:30 - 4 pm. Link here:

As it turns out, also buried in Bill 60 was the banning of construction of any new bus lane or bike lanes in the province, or any lane that takes away from cars... so weakening tenants rights, privatizing wastewater, and encouraging more reliance on cars.
 
^...a broad spectrum of Ontario that doesn't like good governance, accountability and sound economic policies. How gullible are the grifted.
 
Doug Ford is only hated on Twitter (and I guess reddit and the internet in general)

The general public don't really know how corrupt and sleazy he is.

They just assume that because he is a conservative he is good with finances and wouldn't waste money.

Most of his supporters blame the Federal Liberals for all the shit that is going bad.
