Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Shelves full of the same containers or packages but with different labels sound rather Soviet-ish and it would be difficult to implement in the global supply network we now have. Stubby beer bottles were a lot easier when our beer market was completely domestic. Back in their day, there was no US or craft beer available and, old memory, but I think the odd European brands that were available were sold at the LCBO.
It would require coordination among several jurisdictions. It's not impossible to achieve standards, we do it successfully in other areas.

I feel like there should be more coordination between provinces to at least standardize how this is done throughout the country.

Indeed. Coordination of standards implies functional benefits to all the parties involved. Internationally, it would require the involvement of the federal government. We can't even achieve consistency on inter-provincial trade. Heck, in terms of waste management and recycling, we don't even have consistency across Ontario.

Ehh, I think we could get critical mass with a few provinces. It could take the form of some producer-pay waste disposal charges with a break for using standardized packaging.

Clearly our glorious leader is too preoccupied with bike lanes and the source of LCBO paper bags!!

Let's just hope the medical schools overseas where close to 4,000 Canadians are currently enrolled do not follow suit.

If Ottawa wants to make a permanently and long-lasting impact on homelessness they need only look to....

This is another idea that sounds much more sensible than it is: From: https://www.thestar.com/politics/pr...cle_60b25846-92e3-11ef-98e8-a7a00d9cc21e.html

Not even to discuss the benefits of people moving around a bit to get degrees, many Ontarians go to medical schools in other Canadian provinces and it would certainly not be unreasonable if they made exactly the same changes. It is yet another Doug Brain Fart.

Also, to add that international school fees are usually over 3 times what a local student would be paying.
