Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

We never did do a thread for the project below; but today the Ford gov't held a presser to celebrate its new geriatric prison ahem, long-term care home in Ajax reaching substantial completion....

From the Hospital's January newsletter on the project:

This is at Clements and Harwood btw.

Provincial Press release is here: https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1001509/ontario-celebrates-new-long-term-care-home-in-ajax

Will Doug be there to greet them? Will he be at the cottage? View attachment 378134
One wonders (perhaps not too deeply) if the organizers have the permission of these private property owners to use their property as muster points.

Best as I can tell, 'Phat Car Meets' is an 'auto enthusiast' club, somehow linked to a line of clothing.

Apparently the Ford government is mulling some sort of portable benefits program that would offer prescription/dental etc. to gig and part-time workers who don't currently receive coverage through
their employers.

The mused about idea, which isn't given a specific timeline or cost in the article below, also doesn't seem to say much about full-time workers who don't receive such benefits or the unemployed who may not be on
social assistance.

Apparently the Ministry will appoint a 5-person panel to further study the idea this spring. (hmmm, do nothing til after an election??)

Article is currently behind the paywall at time of posting.
