PCCs on 509 this Monday

What a wonderful idea. I wish they could do this every weekend. I've heard they have some pretty serious mechanical issues, though, so would it be possible?

Not every weekend. Even Steve Munro was surprised both 4500 and 4549 were operating, as they have some issues, which I think may be compounded by the fact that there's only two left. I think though if the TTC kept the 18 PCCs in the fleet instead of dumping all but two during the dark Harris years, the cars would probably be more reliable.

^ I saw that and winced. Gruesomely tacky. But I don't think it's Comic Sans, I think it's another one of the nasty default fonts. Man. Why go to all the effort of restoring a streetcar to such a beautiful state - and they really were beautiful machines - if you're going to botch its looks with signage so ugly?

They even put quotes around "The TTC welcomes you to Toronto". Arrrgh!
