^ Someone noted they are just going to be used as auxiliary power units?
I read that they were converted to cab/generator cars at NRE in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Both are ex Amtrak units.

^ Ah! Possibly Cabbages...I wondered about that. I wonder if they will use the empty space if the prime is removed? I still wonder if VIA has considered that fate for their F40s to use as control cabs with the Siemens Charger the other end? Or this particular pair for ONR control cabs as well as APUs?
Indeed, my oversight:the new Siemens trainsets will all have cab cars.
Each trainset will be formed of one locomotive and five coaches, including a driving trailer
How does this differ from the existing stop at Highway 407 that we were discussing a couple of pages ago?ONTC has new bus stop in Vaughan
Ontario Northland is trialling a new bus stop at the Highway 407 Terminal in Vaughan.www.nugget.ca
Was about a month ago - and it wasn't new then, it was in relation to services to the discussion to Barrie and Orillia. Perhaps it still takes a long time for the new to travel that far north ...^ It probably doesn't differ; apologies, I don't think I saw that discussion. Either way just wanted to note the media article on the topic.
^Translation: Studies will continue until morale improves.
(More seriously - that sounds like a review of the whole Ontario Northland mandate).

Which means, it could be back on the chopping block soon enough.
Or direct that all GO/Metrolinx refurbishment go to ONTC instead of tender.
Perhaps better a union shop in Ontario versus a union shop in another jurisdiction.Yeah, that’s what an anti-union Conservative “Open For Business” government would do to a union shop.
