Update from this morning’s GO ride: the second cutter head is lying face down on the surface, alongside what looks like the front sections of the second TBM.

Unfortunately the TBM hasn't launched but they have taken all the tarps off the front components so there's that. With the work they're doing to the front of the 2nd TBM, my best guess is they want to finish assembling those components before the 1st TBM is moving next to them.
Any idea when it will start tunneling?It was actually "launched" yesterday, they had to do it because it's a contract milestone . They just made sure the TBM can rotate properly, monitored the thrust frame structure and had everything working properly.
More like 2034 then. DoFo may not be in office to cut the ribbon...IIRC the current schedule is most construction on the line wraps up in 2030, though commissioning, etc. will likely extend opening until 2032 or so. Remember that while the Crosstown opened in 2026, most major construction works were done in 2024 or so.
Do they have a list of tunnelling milestones, I’m curious to know when the breakthrough at KingWest will happen. It will be cool that there will be an actual tunnel from Fort York to the Wheat Sheaf Tavern.
