Multiplexes

As always, thanks for posting these. Always the first thread I go on, hoping there are updates!

Question - I often see houses under construction with three equal floor plates (i.e. looks like it could be a multiplex) Is there anywhere on the City website to confirm if this is a multiplex compared to just a really big detached house? I suspect the answer is 'no' unless the builder is requesting a variance of some kind.

I ask because I've seen a few places in the east end that could be multiplexes, but there's no CoA application for the addresses. I don't want to get overly excited if someone's just building a 3,500SF detached house.

130 WOLSELEY ST

To alter the existing two-storey detached dwelling by constructing a full third floor addition and a rear basement walkout with stairs, as well as installing one residential dwelling unit. There will be a total of four residential dwelling units in this dwelling.

The multiplex on McGill Street that was so contentious is nearing completion. No pic.

Actually, you can do a building permit search on the City website. It will not have attached documents (and therefore plans) like those going through a rezoning application, but it will have a simple description that may clarify whether it is to construct a single family home or a multiplex.

It's a finicky tool, but here you go:
