Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

I found a site to add a slider to all these Then & Now photos Goldie. I used the 1st one in this thread that Mustapha posted many moons ago. Not the best example but if you crop of the edges of the photos you are trying with you can get it perfect. https://revision.lukasz.cc/view/Vw8AHHSnskUrLC7IAQsx8E96x3yeJ1hE Click on the top where it say reVision and add any two photos you like. Then you click on copy/share to get a link for the combined photos.

It's ironic how anyone under the age of 20 won't recognize this logo.. shame really as it was better than what we have now.

I don't mind the Toronto log, and I am perhaps less fond of the Metro Toronto logo than you. But it is a pretty decent logo.

What I really hate is the East York logo - it looks like a high school art project. And because that was the logo in place at the time of amalgamation, it will never be replaced, and the City adds it to street signs in Old East York. That part of town is stuck with that ugly logo forever.

What, the newer generation doesn't know about these things? I still have a lower cut pair ('toe rubbers') from when I worked and actually wore dress shoes. What do people who have to wear business attire do now? Get wet feet?

I grew up with these:

And still always keep a pair of these around:

Had all of the above at one time or another growing up or early working days. The red-soled black rubber boots were standard issue for kids in the 50s/60s for puddle jumping and playing in the local creek (Taylor/Massey). If you stepped in too deep a spot you got a "soaker". As time and fashion went on it became harder to get toe rubbers and overshoes to fit over the current shoe styles.
