Fascinating, Goldie.

Mr. Hermann doesn't make mention of it, but at the 1:03 time mark an image is shown of the 1960 Park Slope Brooklyn air crash - where an aircraft came down into a very built-up neighbourhood.

I walked past this spot this weekend. I guess I didn't realise exactly where it was before I recognized it from here in person.

This1923 photo should have been included with my recent Harbour Commission Building "Then & Now."
It's really unbelievable that this building (it's on the same plot of land today) was once at the water's edge.

When it was built it was already on infill. The real shoreline was north of that!

If I recall correctly from a book on Toronto I have, it's a captured WWI German U-boat.
