Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

For everyone’s reference, here is IO’s TOC page for the subways program which lists the projects it has worked on. GO will be added to this portfolio. IO also manages the Province’s surplus land inventory so it has lots of real estate experience.

My hope is that IO taking charge means goodbye to GO’s many suburban parking lots.

It’s because the city is really trying to promote the Innovation District in the downtown core, though right now it’s little more than a business incubator, a city-owned co-working site, and a satellite campus of Ontario’s second-smallest university.

The new library/educational hub building still hasn’t started yet.

It’s telling that the only two station naming deals have been with other public sector “partners.”

This is just getting incredibly stupid and it's going to be a disaster for those who dont know the GO network at least somewhat well.

So what now, are they going to reprogram destination signs on buses to spell out all this non-sense? Or are they going to keep them as "Brampton GO" to help add some confusion in? Not even mentioning Brampton Transit who may/may not update their destination signs to reflect this idiotic naming.

We should bid to rename all GO stations to "Union Station".
"Welcome Kitchener Union Station passengers on your 11:40 Kitchener Line train, making all Union Station stops to Toronto's Union Union Station. Please note that not all doors will be opening at Acton Union Station. The next stop is Guelph Central Union Station."
