Mayor John Tory's Toronto

Now, I would like to see former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney's son, Ben, interview former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau's son, Justin. However, Ben is on an entertainment show, E-Talk, so don't know if that would be possible.
I've always thought the two should trade jobs.
Mulroney has a law degree and Trudeau a BA

Ben and Trudeau's wife worked together at E-Talk and are good friends.

In fact, Ben's wife was Sophie's stylist for Justin's swearing in ceremony.

Also, lets not forget Mulroney's advice that seemed to have been forgotten by the CPC:

“Anybody who … treats Justin Trudeau with scorn or derision or underestimates him, does so at his own peril,”

“We’ll see what happens in the future; it’s a long way from here to there. But no one should underestimate Justin. He’s a man of some consequence.”

That would be a spectacle of two of this country's biggest cheese balls.

Justin Trudeau is BFFs with Ben Mulroney
It’s funny how just how much things can change in one generation: The PM progeny have clearly buried the Trudeau-Mulroney hatchet as Justin and Ben are good friends. Their friendship may even have rubbed off on Brian Mulroney as the former prime minister actually endorsed Justin back in 2013

Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau Was Styled By Jessica Mulroney For The Swearing-In Ceremony
As first revealed on CTV's etalk, Mrs. Grégoire-Trudeau was styled by none other than Jessica Mulroney, wife of etalk host (and yes, son of a former prime minister), Ben Mulroney.

John Tory’s SmartTrack transit plan for Toronto getting smaller, cheaper
In recent months, Mr. Tory has suggested he would take seriously the advice of experts, telling journalists that otherwise, there would have been no reason to commission the reports. He has also seemed to back away from the need to have heavy rail in the west end, suggesting he would be content as long as the area was served by transit.
[...]
Although Mr. Tory regularly presents his transit plan as a sure thing – variations on “SmartTrack is going to get built” are a constant refrain, and he has secured funding promises from other levels of government – the final version would have to be approved by city council. The debate is likely to begin in earnest this spring as part of a broader discussion about city transit that will include new ridership projections for the downtown relief line and the Scarborough subway extension.

A politician broke a promise. This is shocking! When Ford, Tory and Chow ran for mayor, they all had a transit proposal to convince the voters to support them. There was no guarantee it would happen as planned.

Only problem is the mayor is also breaking promises he made long after the election, as we heard recently with this plan to balance the budget by cutting 60% of his announced commitments.

People seem to like him, thought I just looked up his approval rating and it has gone down. We are a diverse city, yet we only elect white guys as mayor....

What's so great about Nenshi? He gets a lot of praise but then people draw a blank when asked what he's done specifically.
this is more recognition, and from last year, but...

Calgary’s Naheed Nenshi declared world’s top mayor
named the No. 1 mayor in the world by an international urban research institute.
[...]
It describes him as an urban visionary who doesn’t neglect the nitty-gritty of local government.

It says Nenshi is a role model to many in North America and Europe for decisive management, inclusivity and forward thinking.

Back when city council selected one of their own to be mayor, William Peyton Hubbard did become deputy mayor, in 1906 and 1907. He became the first non-White person elected to public office in any major city in Canada, starting in 1894. He would go on to win 14 more elections, when elections were an annual event. See link.

His son, Frederick Langdon Hubbard, was the first African-Canadian to serve on the Toronto Transportation Commission. Frederick was chair of the TTC from 1929 to 1930. See link.
