Here's a challenge for GTA drone pilots.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a similar view as this 1928 aerial of Leaside?
Could be a fine addition to the "Then & Now" page.

It will be tough to do by UAV since it lies within the Toronto Terminal Control Zone and one would need a Special Flight Operations Certificate to do it legally. Best hope would be manned flight.

Isn't that spot in Leaside a long way from any airport?
As you may know, this very site (in the photo) was an "aerodrome" in 1915.
It's known as the location of Canada's first airmail flight.

Sadly, most of Toronto is off limits due to Pearson, Downsview, Billy Bishop, Buttonville, and the heliports. McCrae and Laird falls right near the end of the Billy Bishop restriction. On the other side is the Sunnybrook Heliport restriction. I didn't break out the sectional chart but almost all of Toronto is non-class G airspace which is what you need to operate without the SFOC.
