HAHAHAHA LOVE IT!
A post on Mayor McCallion commenting on the need for Mississauga souvenirs plus 29 replies!
HAHAHAHAHAHAA!
I was at the "We need Mississauga souvenir" Council meeting --like sitting right there!
And if you asked me about the most important thing that happened at that meeting, I'd have one word for you:
ENERSOURCE
That Council meeting has lots to say about ENERSOURCE.
And there was even aftermath about ENERSOURCE.
And even just the other day, John Stewart of The Mississauga News wrote about ENERSOURCE in his Blog.
ENERSOURCE --and especially its Board of Directors--is quite the story if you ignore the souvenirs.
Hmmmm... Remember how McGuinty introduced the new Trillium design for Ontario and how TOForumers debated the merits of that at length?
I wonder what was of real provincial importance during the "Trillium New Design Week"...
I just learned something. If I were a politician whose policies had just been found to have resulted in the deaths of two homeless people on a bitterly-cold night, I'd just drop a red herring like:
"I wonder if there's sufficient funds in our budget to convert from our regulation paperclips to the spiffy new colour-coded ones."
And the Toronto Star and National Post (and dare I say it? --even the Sun) would have headlines: "City Hall diverting budget into spiffy flourescent paperclips"
And the paperclip debates would be on.
And two people --forgotten in the morgue, would be awaiting spring for their burial.

Haha, she is quite the old coot. Cept she probably won't be around for much longer so that'll have little shelf life.
I agree with something Councillor Iannicca said (I believe during his election campaign).
Hazel McCallion will live to see one hundred and the city will be much poorer when we lose her leadership.
