GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Depends in the comms goal of your org - humanization can be very effective when the horde wanted to burn the place down.

That is true. Either way, the Leafs wound up with a dedicated "media relations" Twitter account that is open to the public.

Essentially, anything actually important enough for media coverage is here: https://twitter.com/LeafsPR
The Humanization is here: https://twitter.com/mapleleafs
Then the players and executives have their own accounts for personal matters and things only tangentially related to the team (example): https://twitter.com/brendanshanahan

I think it would work well for Metrolinx to take a similar approach

To be fair to AMA - it is her account (on surface), not that of org; but not to be fair to her - the only reason why people reach out is because the corporate accounts are useless platitudes, and she don't treat it like a purely personal one.

Hahahahah. The Lakeshore E graphic is even worse, it outright lies. They claim there is (or will be) service every 30 mins from Oshawa to Union serving all stops in between. Yet there is a 1 hr gap in the morning from 6:44 to 7:33 where trains go Express after Pickering and a 1.5 (!) hr gap in the evening from 16:10 to 17:40 between all stop trains. There are 7 express trains in that time period.

And people wonder why some people don't believe anything they read on social media. "Experiment" my butt. You want an idea taken seriously - make a serious proposal. We have enough trouble with people in positions of power making stuff up.
Reminds me of the other week when that "artist" got a plane heading to Jamaica turned back around to Pearson for a fake coronavirus scare, just for attention.

I do wish that GO serves Brock University directly. As it stands, you have to take 2 buses to go from Fairview Mall (where Route 12 stops) to Brock.

In the video of the Bowmanville Extension the cooperation of the CP Rail president is noted. One of the new Metrolinx Board members is a former CP Rail Vice President for the Eastern Region.

In other news, Sunday Funday is back March 1st.

This picture in the twitter thread gives a sense of some of the upgrades done to eliminate the whistling.

It seems that any municipality can initiate the process:

Although the issue of assumed liability is not specifically addressed, I would if some municipalities might be reluctant based on advice from their counsel. If crossing upgrades are required, I don't know who would be responsible for the cost.
