GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Without getting into those weeds, I do predict ML will cite this event as an excuse for further slippage on the Hamilton area construction ...... which began in 2014 and is not as yet complete.......

^ But didn't @smallspy point out a few pages back that CN was slow to assign crews to build some aspects of the infrastructure? I'm certainly not an expert or insider but given how CN and to an extent CP have been impacted by the blockades, I wonder if that challenge will get even worse because CN will be distracted, or prioritize their crews for alternative option upgrades/maintenance, etc?

^I'm told that there were times where CN had staff ready, but ML was not ready to proceed.

There may have been lots of "After you, Alphonse" where one party was ready but the other party wasn't. ML is the party that is claiming "ahead of schedule", whereas CN isn't. So CN gets the higher ground.

My point is that if this is a one- or two- day event, it shouldn't excuse a multi-day delay. I'm just enough of a curmudgeon to suspect that ML will try to pull this kind of excuse. I apologize if this is a cheap shot, but I have my suspicions.

Construction timing for the work on the Barrie Line and the Kitchener Line 4th track/West Toronto Railpath, and the extension of the Railpath over the Barrie Line with a new bridge. Links can be found here: https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threa...f-toronto-phase-ii-proposed.2969/post-1534190

The Woodbine GO station has completed the EPR. All relevant documents at the bottom of the page here. Concept design here. Of note is that it doesn’t look like UP Express will be stopping at this station, a good thing IMO. 2 island platforms, 8 bus bays, parking, and pickup and dropoff area.

I did find in Appendix C in the first link that the station will be designed to allow for UPX trains to use it, but it has not been confirmed that UPX will service the station.

Presumably the longer section of the southern platform is the raised UPX platform.

Can't find any mention of any rough in or early works towards changed platform height for GO.

I believe you’re referring to this?

I wonder if VIA will want to use this station. I hope not. VIA should stop serving Malton once the new platform at Weston opens.

There isn't nor will there be a knockout panel for the Caledonia station for the GO station and riders will have to use the surface walkway bridge to get to both stations. Another example Metrolinx lack of thinking and planning. There will how every a knockout panel for the Crosstown Station to have a tunnel and new entrance for any condo built when the plaza is redevelop down the road at the expensive of the developer based on Metrolinx design.

Mount Dennis GO/UPX Station. Bulk of the GO station Platform is south of Eglinton.

^ Cool pictures. I'm curious on what this view looks like for what the LRT will look like when it is extended. I assume the tunneled portion from Mount Dennis to a point east of Jane will be done via cut and cover? From the IBC.
