Finch West Line 6 LRT

Also the website has been updated to 2023 completion date, lets see how many more times that gets moved.
If it's like the Eglinton line contracts, then it likely won't, unless something very major happens. The opening date would be fixed in stone, with massive penalties. And there shouldn't be many construction surprises - most of this is just surface LRT. The biggest dig is adacent to the new Finch West station, so there shouldn't be any surprises in what they encounter there. And there's only one other hole in the ground really - at Humber College. Presumably they'll start digging at those locations early.

Don't they have to completely relocate and replace utilities along the corridor like they did in Waterloo?

I am just waiting day to day to hear they signed an agreement!!!

and indirectly, that the path to cancellation just got that much harder!

The inherent problem with this line is that neither the residents of the area nor the rest of the city really care about it.

It's a low hanging apple for Doug to cancel and just to show off.

And incur major costs while he is at it.

I have a feeling once (if) Dougie is in office and gets the total bill for cancellation he will have second thoughts.

If finch is cancelled it should go to eglinton west lrt aka smart track
From an Etobicoke point of view this makes sense.
From a Mammolitti point of view, he should campaign for an elevated Finch. He has enough political capital to survive this, and he should know that subway will never happen.
