I think the moderators should make it clear that not reflecting idealistic socialist values will lead to people being banned.

I think that if anything gets Virus banned, it won't be his political opinions but the manner in which he chooses to relate them and, more importantly, how he chooses to react to his views being disagreed with.

There is a skew to the left, and I would welcome more right wing voices on the forum, but they have to write eloquently and behave reasonably.
There is a difference between conservatives like William Safire and David Brooks and, say, Bill O'Reilly or Michelle Malkin. Viriatus clearly belonged to the latter group.
For the same reason, I'd rather that we'd have 'socialists' like Stephen Lewis than Hugo Chavez or, worse, the editorial staff of NOW magazine.

i would say that the skew to the left is accounted for by the fact that the vast majority of highly educated people skew to the left.
when a highly educated person leans right it is almost always because they have an economic interest in skewing right--ie. they are well off, and want to stay that way.
they are right wing in the sense that they are "free market low tax small government" economic conservatives.
this is juxtaposed against the socially intolerant, immigrant bashing, fetus worshipping, poor hating, anti gay, "pro-family" social conservatives. these right wingers are never intelligent in any rational way.

given all that--why are you bothering posting here? people as 'outspoken' and as intolerant as you as common as dirt, so why not find a board that reflects your point of view? why invite all this extra stress into your life by posting on a board whose members you loathe?
by the way, your complete inability to hear out anyone who disagrees with you--without launching into really dimwitted personal attacks--is all textbook 'authoritarian personality' stuff.
anyway, here is the best that can be said about you so far:
1. you don't know how to construct an argument or defend your point of view.
2. you haven't lived downtown for very long.
2. you haven't traveled much.
3. you have very little life experience.

He was banned both times for being abusive to others. That will not be tolerated. I could care less about whether he's right wing, left wing or in the middle. There's plenty of members here that reflect his views and they haven't been banned.

10 years from now i'll be older myself and probably wont be as interested in how fun and exciting this area is right now, so you're probably correct.
but I feel sorry for all the kids who will come of age in another 10 years.. there will be nowhere else quite like it to go.
this ward really needs a younger councillor who is more in touch with the area.
