Two more shots of the Imperial Bank from 1947 (FAC33, look what you started). Looks like the Cawthra House has just been demolished and the rest of the site is being cleared for the BNS Building:

I was pondering as I walked through this intersection today as to the size of these buildings. The old BNS building between the Imperial and Commerce Court was such a small thing. I'd love to do a Then and Now, although getting the perspective of either of these two photos would be tough I'm wondering where they were taken from, and what the series of black projecting things on the right of these two photos are. Given the time frame--are they taken from the under-construction BMO building? Or something further up the street?
