I moved into the neighborhood where the tunnel would go in 2018. Every year I’ve been here Metrolinx has teased that things will begin the following year.

I'm convinced that they have one intern in a windowless basement working on this file and every time someone tweets at Metrolinx they send someone from their comms team down to ask how it's going.

Who thinks the Ontario Line will be completed before this tunnel ever is? That's what im starting to think at this point because this is just laughably embarrassing.

I think they've been pushing out something similar annually since 2012 or so; perhaps earlier.

It is almost like they created a Red Team and a Blue Team at Metrolinx. One team was given Caledonia GO Station to Line 5, the other team was given Bloor connection to Line 2, challenged the two teams in a race... but both teams conceded defeat.

Im pretty sure that one is officially off the table and wont ever be happening. I remember Metrolinx saying something to the extent of "it's infeasible due to some kind of infrastructure constraint". Which is probably fodder and BS, because you can likely get around that with enough engineering but it would cost $$$.

Everyone needs to stop complaining because the existing connection to the UPX is great! You just need to exit Dundas West TTC station, cross at the lights, turn left, turn right, then up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right, walk through Freshco, ask the staff in the back if you can wheel your suitcase through the warehouse, hop off the loading dock, cut a section out of the chain-link fence, over the tracks and hoist yourself up onto the platform. Easy-peasy.
