Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

In typical bureaucratic fashion they are only doing one and then setting up a bunch of public consultations to determine their popularity before they finish the rest.
Except they aren't.

Does anyone recall what the costs of shutting down the SRT and running replacement busses was vs. the current plan of extending the life by however long it take Line 2 to be completed?

44, yours are better.

One day we should break into McCowan gas and wrap it in your livery. Are you up to the challenge? ;)

Thanks! After drawing the GO-ALRT green stripe, I've been keen to see how it'd look in real life. But sadly my graffito and 'breaking into' days are long behind me.

They are.

This is just one trainset.

They are showcasing this trainset and then getting feedback before doing the rest

"The first of the 14 cars is already getting a fresh blue wrap to cover its "scrappy" fiberglass and metal exterior. The Line 3 name and its six stops will be part of the new look and an updated train will run for a while before the rest of the fleet is wrapped, to give riders a chance to offer feedback."

That article was about 2 cars being done. Now there are 4 cars done (2 pairs). And as far as I can tell, the interior has only been done to the 2nd pair (from the photos at least). 24 cars (12 pairs) remain. I can't imagine they are going to wait very long - wasn't there already join procurement with Translink to obtain materials to refurbish the interior of all 28 cars?

How was the original design of the rt vehicles more similar to Atlanta than any other city? Just wondering, I don't personally make the connection, other than the wide black stripe that encapsulates the windows (which I am always a fan of).

Funny how the TTC is only just getting around to updating 30 years old trains and has no MK11 and Vancouver is already moving onto MK111 which can be 100 meter articulated trains.

Also, instead of spending $3 billion a new subway why don't they just fix that tight curve that inhibits MK11/111 trains and save the billions making the Egl/SRT one long grade separated route as was originally planned before Miller proposed his LRT or nothing plan?
