Just returned from the San Francisco air show, https://fleetweeksf.org/air-show/ and I have to say I was surprised by how quiet it was. The six Blue Angels F-18s flew right over my vessel in the middle of San Francisco Bay, and even during their high power aerobatics the noise was not deafening. Meanwhile the excellent Patriots Jet Team was almost silent, no louder than the Snowbirds. This led me to wonder why the Toronto air show with its single F-18 and single F-35 had to be so noisy, blasting away with their afterburners.

I saw the air show yesterday (Saturday). Great weather for an air show. However, other than the amazing Red Arrows and Snowbirds the air show was a little down from years past. The MiG-15 and CF-18 were good, but much of the time it was nothing or a Porter Q400 and RCAF Griffon helicopter circling about, almost to fill time. Last year the F-22 was great. I always wonder why the Hamilton museum doesn't participate with its Lancaster, etc. I guess they have their own show.

...I guess they have their own show.
They participate in a free Community Air Show in Brantford on the Wednesday afternoon before Labour Day weekend.

They did have their own very good air shows back in about 2011-13 (and previously in the 1970s and 80s) with many other visiting WWII planes,

but since then went back to having much smaller "Flyfest" type of events, mostly with just their own planes.

They also do private flights; the Lanc was up a couple of times this weekend. $3500 a pop, I believe.

There's replica WWI planes at the Brampton-Caledon Airport Day on Sunday, although I would assume the $40 sightseeing flights are in other planes.

I really do have to get to the CWHM at Mount Hope. I would love to see a DeHavilland Mosquito - there are very few left that are airworthy. I've been up in the Tiger Moth out of Edenvale and crawled through the Commemorative Air Force's B-17, B-25 and B-29. No flights - a little too rich for me.

I dragged my motorcycling partners through the National Air Force Museum in Trenton a few years ago. I was less successful in my efforts to drag them through the USAF Museum in Dayton.
