As a straight dude, I don't find "breeder" offensive, only a bit weird... It seems like it would be used in a similar situation that a straight person would use "fag" instead of "gay", ie. a pejorative. So it's kinda like a pejorative that doesn't hurt. It does seem kinda odd, considering the number of gay couples who get artificially inseminated/adopt.
