Is Zum 501 terminating at VMC station actually a good service pattern? Is there any merit to terminating at Highway 50 and transferring to Viva Orange instead? I know those from Brampton taking the subway will complain that they have to transfer, but isn't having BT going that deep into YRT territory inefficient? Of course, this relies on YRT increasing frequencies significantly.Maybe we could see a bus terminal on highway 50 or the gore happen. We could have 5 brampton routes, and then 501 obviously, viva orange/77 for yrt, bolton line for bolton, and maybe some new bt routes serving this terminal. The gore seems like the most attractive option however as it has a lotta new development happening. And with this BRT coming theres no doubt the demand will never stop
Apparently the zum becomes a viva bus when in york region and this has been the case since 2010. You can use both bt and yrt passes on either bus and this is an advantage as bt pass holders can get to RMC without an additional fare. During this pandemic, i’ve seen the 501 overtake viva orange about 600% more times and i can tell people prefer the 501 both within vaughan and ofc going to brampton. During the hours of 6 and 7 am eastbound, and 4 and 5 PM westbound, the 501 comes every 2-5 minutes, while orange comes every 24 mins at both rush hours so you can tell which one seems more attractive to get onto, and not to mention 99% of the time the zum bus will be an artic. It’s an amazing service and completely overcrowded at rush hour depending on direction hence the extra buses technically doing the 501A/C work but this time only staying on Hwy 7Is Zum 501 terminating at VMC station actually a good service pattern? There's two different "audiences" for the 501/A services that have developed over the last decade (!!). There are students on the 501A/C, but there's a lot of people working in York Region that are on the 501 coming from Brampton. Cutting the 501 back without YRT increasing services is just going to get more drivers on the road.Is Zum 501 terminating at VMC station actually a good service pattern? Some people have said that viva orange should be eliminated in favor of having 501 go to RHC. If the 501 went to Finch however that could be overkill and we might need yet another branch of the route and this is not go or ttc where they could manage like 5 branches on one lineIs there still some possibility of a branch running via John St direct to Finch? Extending Purple to VMC and Zum to Finch station with full fare integration and marketing as Viva within York while eliminating Orange as such would seem the most reasonable approach to reducing the duplication.

There’s all that plus the 501A/C. BT can barely manage 2 branches on some routes idk how this will turn outWhere are you getting five branches from? It's the existing structure extended plus maybe a short turn at Vaughn...
Mind you, I do like that structure if a direct to Yonge route isn't on the table. Of course the simplest option is just to cut Orange back to VMC, with or without Purple through routing.
