400 foot List

This graphic by The Grid is kinda cool. It does, however, call 200m+ "supertall"

It's got a number of other things wrong too:

Aura was granted an extension to 78 storeys by the Committee of Adjustment.

16 York will not be 67 storeys. That figure and that height will apply to the tallest of the two Ãce condo towers at the site. The outline shown is for the 31-storey office tower.

Similarly they should likely drop One York which won't hit their 200m cutoff and just feature the Harbour Plaza towers.

L Tower should be listed at 58 storeys.

2 Queen St W now has a concept rendering available for 69 storeys, not 65 if the rendering is accurate: the 65-storey tower starts above the 4-storey heritage Jamieson building.

Ten York will have 65 storeys, not 67. That is if they're just counting residential floors, which they seem to be doing for all of the others listed.

As far as I know, the Oxford Place proposal is still moving forward. The loss of the casino slowed it down, but it was being planned before the casino was part of it, and it still makes as much sense now as it did before the casino was part of it.

Well i guess we can also add a couple more bldgs. to these 3 projected developments (no confirmed heights yet)

Oxford Place West Office/Residential Tower 70s
Oxford Place East Office/Residential Tower 70s
Oxford Place West Hotel Tower 65s-70s

Signature One 79s
Signature Two 68s

45 Bay/North Office Tower 58s-62s
45 Bay/East Office Tower 35s-40s

I apologize for bumping this thread but I find it a bit frustrating having such a prominent thread pinned near the top of the Projects and Construction list that does not get updated.

Mods, should this page no longer be pinned - particularly considering the great database list view that you created - as it makes this page 'less important' as you can get the list of the tallest buildings in that view? (i.e.: http://http://urbantoronto.ca/database/)

I don't mind updating it, but I got the impression no one was using it so I stopped. I'm fine with taking it down if no one sees the need for it.

I really prefer the database page as I can sort the columns and filter the list based on status (complete, under construction, pre construction) but the one big problem with that page (but completely understand why the mods didn't do this) is that the database page doesn't include buildings that were completed before urbantoronto.ca was created. As such, the database page list doesn't include many of the tallest buildings such as Scotia Plaza, TD Canada Trust Tower, Commerce Court West, TD Tower, etc. so doesn't give the complete list of tallest buildings like we have here on the 400 foot list.

This is probably THE greatest thread on the site. Most valuable in my opinion. Please do not take it down.

I have been a lurker of this forum for many YEARS, and recently decided to post just to add to this thread (and probably start participating in other threads now that I have posted here).

It does require updating as some of the projects are complete and pics need to be updated, but as a whole, this is a great post.

For us "newbs" and "guests", trust me, this is one of the first posts that we check first before diving into the other threads and getting familiar with UT. I'm glad it was recognized and made into a sticky.

Hope the updates continue!!

Amazing post DaninToronto.
