I just walked by and someone said tomorrow.

Stocking in progress! I have a feeling this will be open by the end of March? I also noticed that they got chairs delivered for their eat-in area, which almost looks finished. Noticed that the floors were cleaned up as well. So close, and I love the wood finishes in the store.

Tbh I would just move it to Lawrence Harris Square. It’s all rocks there anyways and would probably fit. Graffiti art the concrete at the bottom and it would be an awesome spot, steps from Corktown common.

    Toronto West Don Lands: Block 13 | 139.31m | 43s | Dream | Henriquez Partners

I think the issue is that the other developments were not dense enough. There are not currently enough residents in this neighbourhood to support a robust retail presence along front. With future proximity to East Harbour, and its gateway like access to the Portlands, this neighbourhood is going...

Progress seems pretty steady now on a daily basis. I wonder when we’ll get a confirmed opening date?

Pictures from Jan 3 in the morning (Lights were on when I was going home from the Gym). Feels like this could be open this month if they wanted to. But it doesn’t seem like they’re in any rush.

TBH I’m not in love with the casting, I thought they would be using more of a brink texture that I thought would be a bit more RED. Maybe it will look better when it’s all installed though.

Which Facebook Group is this? Count me in #1 I am so excited for this to open. My grocery waste will fall spectacularly when it does. This renovation has been taunting everyone who lives in this neighborhood for too long!

    Toronto West Don Lands: Blocks 17 & 26 | 141m | 43s | Aspen Ridge | Core Architects

I really wish they’d vary the materials on the buildings a bit more. Can’t help but feel this was a missed opportunity to do something at a similar quality to Canary Landing and Indigenous hub

As someone who will be looking at this, my main thing here is the suggestion different materials be used on the different buildings. Solid recommendation. It would also be nice if they could figure out how to put more car entrances on Eastern if possible, so more space on the site itself can...

Souk Tabule and Sukhothai are really good in my opinion. And Souk usually seems busy especially in the summer. More people coming to the area in the coming years with Canary Landing/ Canary House plus some new developments sure to come (Block 13, Foundry) will probably attract better retail in...

Going to go out and say for Shop Task and Copper Branch, their issues were probably: - Copper Branch was not very good in general, had weird opening hours. I tried to like them multiple times and just never got anything I really “liked”. - Shop Task was specifically a rollerblade shop. It may...

Especially given the closest right now is a Nofrills (which doesn’t appeal to everyone) and then St Lawrence Market. This will be the closest grocery store for a ton of people.

This literally mocks us in the neighbourhood every day. The application is still sitting with the city last time I saw.

Same! It mocks us. I’m considering writing to the temp city councillor to see if they can get planning to move along!

The application still says “Under Review”? Maybe they still need final go-ahead?

I will be attending to let waterfront Toronto know that as a resident of the area, it’s actually okay if this building looks like it exists and has an in interesting design.

Where did you find this? I wanted to check the status but the Toronto Dev Application site doesn’t let me search for “BA” applications. As this development gets closer to finishing, I’m increasingly eager to see progress on the grocery store.

During the day and evening, when many are illuminated from the inside, the best that can be said about this type of design is that it’s fine. But at night, boy is it cold and soulless. For patios, it’s nice to be surrounded by color and material. And yes, you can manage that with large...
