Major changes to GRT network are coming as part of the ION opening in (probably) September 2018 (fingers crossed) http://www.grt.ca/en/about-grt/2018-transit-network.aspx In other news, the first new ION-branded bus for the Fairway - Ainslie BRT line is now in service. They come with white LED...

    Brampton Transit/Zum

Chatting with the planners at the PIC last night, I think they really wanted to go to Viscount for this year but couldn't secure enough funding, which is a shame.

    miWay Transit

Looks like MiWay changed to plan yet again to include a new 142 Derry Express, while the 100 will start at Winston Churchill instead of South Common. Curious to see what the level of service and routing will look like for 142.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

The proposed Innisfil GO would be located south of Alcona, which would be too far away from any of the existing bus stops along Yonge Street, including those in the communities of Stroud, Churchill and at the Town Hall / Rec Centre at Innisfil Beach Road. Ridership is not high at these stops...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Having a separate GO train station and local bus terminal is not unique, and perfectly fine if there are good bus connections (see Oshawa, Bramalea, Cooksville/Sq1). The real issue here is that most weekend/off-peak trains turn back at Aurora where YRT connections are terrible and, on Sundays...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Thanks for the details. As for buses I assume there won't be any big changes until December, for the Highway 407 Station and Renforth Station opening. EDIT: Looks like GO buses will start servicing Dixie Transitway station this September...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Looks like Barrie Line may be getting its 8th train round trip this September. The new trains will be scheduled approx. 20~30 minutes later than the existing last morning/evening train. (source: YRT service change page)

    Brampton Transit/Zum

501 will use the Vivastation at VMC and then head straight to York U without stopping. 501A will only stop at York U. There is not enough people connecting between 407 GO buses and Zum to justify looping at 407 Station. This was confirmed during the public consultation in March.

    Brampton Transit/Zum

501 has been using Jane-407-Keele to get from VMC to York U for years now... BT must think the time savings/reliability is worth the 407 toll they're paying, even for such a short leg. Maybe it has to do with subway construction at Pioneer Village, or the left turn from Jane to Steeles (even...

    Brampton Transit/Zum

Went to the open house today as well. One thing to note is that 501A would not be stopping at Pioneer Village or Highway 407 station. This means connections with the 407 GO buses will be lost.... (However, according to BT staff, some GO bus trips may continue to enter York University...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Brampton Transit will also run right into campus (as opposed to ending at VMC Pioneer Village) in 2 of its 3 service change options for 501/501A, according to its 2017 Service Plan: http://www.brampton.ca/EN/residents/transit/service-alerts/Documents/BramptonTransit_PICBoardsWeb.pdf

Ahh! My apologies. Fixed the original post --- Full document for 2018 Service Plan is out: https://www.yrt.ca/en/about-us/resources/2018ASP-Initiatives-Final-Storyboards.pdf I have two serious concerns in terms of frequency on Viva routes. Orange will replace Purple west of Richmond Hill...
