General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

Look up royal york? My "existing" comment was for Etobicoke not the city in general. It literally connects to the bloor street extension and it's been open for 15 years, despite the plans to add them to Kipling and islingotn there's no word on royal york which passes houses and connects to the...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Yeah fair point we talked about it weeks ago

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Would could have expected rails and bolts in a streetcar loop?

I don't get why the left and right hand never talk? Multiple bike lanes going up in Etobicoke but ZERO plans to add separation/protection for the existing ones!

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

IMO that only works if there is something "desirable" in the area. Most of the route is either residential, or industrial. I'm hoping this will change but like most of the areas outside the old city of Toronto everything feels designed around moving people to work downtown or school and then...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

There are multiple apartment buildings in the photo? Side note, as far back as feb/march basically everything was reported to be around 99% done, kind of hilarious close to a year later there are still regular closures and constrcution. I guess it's 99.999999999% done?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Lmao letting someone pay $500K (likely less than the change costs) to re name a go station was pretty up there!

Gonna step on my soap box for a second and say the unwritten social contract is leave my alone and I won't cause you trouble and vice versa, you see someone acting mentally unwell that contract suddenly goes away, hence why even if you're not in physical danger people feel uncomfortable. Also...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Doesn't help the TTC blatantly victim blames people for travelling alone.

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

Yeah fair point, his base will be appeased seeing even just some of the infrastructure taken away and be on to the next wedge issue!

Couldn't they just use the nonwithstanding clause? I agree but enough people either agree with what he's doing or just don't care that he's likely to get re-elected. I don't even know who the NDP option is and and Crombie is about as exciting as a wet rag.

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

If the province could railroad an election, I doubt the city will have any more luck with a transport issue.

I'll change that to "kept on"

TTC: Scarborough Busway Construction (portion of the former Scarborough RT route)

Can't wait for my children's children to ride it vs the 2 years it would have taken to rebuilt the SRT track curves!

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Apparently the tried painting the H5's but changed their minds As "minor" as it seems go to Japan and each station has it's own door closing chime (that you can stitch together into a song!) It's very rare in my life a service or company that cares about "minor" things doesn't also do an...

As much as the guy sucks, he was basically hired to be Fords punching bag!

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Are there usage numbers published? Just a hunch but if you see the prices for the ford transit van style vehicles has gone up 70% I think it's because the 401 is basically unusable if you delivery for a job so they know they can charge what is effectively highway robbery! The fact they went from...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

The traffic is never bad on the 407 though, and the price increase for delivery vehicles will now be 70% MORE (roughly) than what they pay today.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Oh wow I assumed those were already funded or at least like had a deadline! As a side note the 407 price increases are criminal, the "new" motorcycle rate is just what cars are paying today. my friends in the delivery business will have a 70%+ increase in costs.

Where would you add capacity that isn't already slated to?
